March ReviewPosted : April 10th, 2018
We added four wins on the All-Weather this month, continuing our excellent strike-rate over the winter. We now look forward to the beginning of the turf campaign.
Luna Eclipse has made a very bright start to the year and he supplemented his handicap debut win at Kempton Park in February with a game success at Chelmsford under Oisin Murphy. He has an excellent attitude and looks the type to continue to progress when switched to the turf.
Pak Choi has been a work in progress this winter, but a good second at Newcastle in February to a colt that has gone on to win his next two suggested his opening mark of 74 was a fair one. That was borne out on his handicap debut at Kempton Park, where he travelled well and came clear inside the final furlong to score in great style. By Paco Boy and a half-brother to a black-type performer, he is open to plenty of improvement this term.
One who has already made giant strides this year is Seasearch, who hadn’t shown much promise last term but, upped to 1m4f, he got off the mark in style at Southwell under Martin Dwyer, laying down an early marker for biggest margin of victory this year with a 23-length success! He duly followed up at Wolverhampton in the hands of Will Cox and went down by just a neck in his bid for the hat-trick last time. He should appreciate a step up in trip in due course and, though things will be tougher still off his revised mark, he should win more races this year.
