Fantastic to celebrate our 50th winner of the season today at @newmarket_racecourses with Double Rush taking the 6f race in impressive style.

It’s been a tough week for the team at home following Gewan’s accident, but really lovely for Forz Europe who also own this promising colt.

It is with extreme sadness that we report that Gewan, Champion Two-Year-Old of 2025, has suffered a fatal accident whilst having a racecourse gallop at Kempton this morning. The vets were on site and attended to the horse immediately but sadly he could not be saved.

Our thoughts are with Harris Li and his family who owned Gewan, James Doyle who was riding the horse and is luckily uninjured and Marie Perrault who has looked after the horse since he arrived at Kingsclere and rides him every day.

We will never forget his brilliance when taking the Dewhurst in such impressive style and we were so looking forward to seeing what he could achieve during his three-year-old career.

Racing is full of high days and low days and unfortunately, this is very much one of the latter.

STATEIRA kicked off All Weather Finals Day by impressively taking the @betmgmuk Fillies and Mares Championship Handicap under @oisindmurphy. Congratulations to Owner @gary.gillies, groom @mayamcnelis and regular rider @georgeducker! A filly going places.

BERKSHIRE SUNDANCE toughed it out to win @midnite All Weather Easter Plate Marathon Handicap under @oisindmurphy. Congratulations to owner Berkshire Parts and Panels LTD No1 Fan Club and groom @grosjamesle.

Brilliant to have a double today and hopefully the form can continue into the turf season.

A big thank you to all our staff for all their hard work throughout another tough winter.

On Sunday, we hosted a Pony Club Rally for Vine Pony club. The jockeys did a health and safety and racing knowledge quiz before getting on their ponies.

They warmed up and practiced their cantering positions on a bend, and headed to the Lochsong gallop, where they practiced their set off, going straight and some even had a go at pushing!

Congratulations to Noemi Jere who has completed an intermediate Equine photography course, provided by @nationalassociationracingstaff

NARS do a beginners course every year and an intermediate course once every two years, to help those in racing learn new skills within racing as well as outside of the sport.

This is a brilliant initiative from them, and everyone at Parkhouse Stables is so pleased for Noemi, especially with a brilliant portfolio shown above
