The list of eligible horses appears in the Spring 2024 Magazine.

The Rules

This year the competition will start on 13th April 2024 and run until 1st December 2024, both dates inclusive. Late entries will be taken but must not include anything that has run after 12th April.

All runners from 13th April to 1st December count for scoring whilst they are trained by Andrew Balding, including all flat (turf and all-weather), jumping and foreign runners. Entries are £10 and you may submit as many lists as you like. Each list must include at least five two-year-olds.

The prize pool will be divided 55% to the winner, 25% to the second, 15% to the third and 5% to the fourth. The person finishing last will have their £10 refunded. Last year’s pool was £1930.

Please fill out the section for reserves – whilst the list of horses was correct at the time of publication things can change quickly and we will make changes for you if necessary.

Scoring

Points are awarded as follows:

12 points for the winner of Group or Listed race.
10 points for any other winner.
8 points for the second in a Group or Listed race.
6 points for any other second.
5 points for the third in a Group or Listed race.
4 points for any other third.
1 point for a fourth where there is prizemoney.
